War is the Answer

Here’s a story you might not hear much about in the media:

Six years after the U.S. and its allies went to war to remove the Taliban and chase al-Qaida out of Afghanistan, health care in that country has vastly improved.

Newly built clinics, greater access to medicine, the presence of more doctors — all has come about because of help from the U.S., Europe and organizations such as the World Bank and even the U.N.

Whereas about 6 percent of the citizens had access to health care before the war, now about 85 percent of Afghanistan’s population has access to health care (and without a government bureaucracy telling people who they can see, what they can have done, etc., we should point out to Hillary fans).

The results are encouraging. Estimates are that 89,000 children under the age of 5 will survive this year who would not have had a hope under the Taliban/al-Qaida rule.

Of course, none of this improvement would have been possible if George Bush had not led the U.S. to war against the former rulers of Afghanistan and their fascist strain of the “religion of peace.”

So to all the pizza-box peaceniks, the bumper sticker-toting soccer moms and the head-in-the-sand bishops, this simple message: War is the answer to evil.
